Violence Erupts on Play Station 3 Release Date
There was shock at the violence that erupted on the Sony Play Station 3 release date. So many people were anxiously awaiting the new game consoles and the supply was so limited that violence broke out throughout the country. People were shot, fights broke out, there were robberies and the police were in involved in breaking up riots everywhere. All this happened because the number of PS3 game consoles shipped was way below earlier expectations. Too many customers and not enough product.
It is a strange thing to see people become irrational over a simple game. All over the country as theSony Play Station 3 release date came closer gamers began to camp outside stores and wait with the hope that they would get one of he few that would be available. One store pitted consumers against one another by placing ten chairs outside the store for the fifty people waiting outside. They told them that whoever got the chairs got the consoles. This idiotic debacle resulted in many injuries with one person actually having to be sent to the hospital. It is unclear who was rewarded the consoles when it was all over. Unfortunately the day of the sale prompted many such fights. It also was the reason behind a bunch of campers robbed at gunpoint and a robbery where several play stations were stolen the night before the PS3 release date.
There were many mini riots outside stores with consumers fighting for a place in line. The police threatened to use tasers at one store where the fact that it was the PS3 release date had consumers fighting in disproportionately long lines. The violence was overflowing into the parking lot. The police had to be called to break it up as they were at many such computer or department stores. One incidence saw thieves rob those standing in line with their hard earned money waiting all night to buy the new PS3 console. Another example of what occurred on the Sony Play Station 3 release date happened when the crowd outside a store swelled to nearly four hundred. Police were called to try to return some type of order. The crowd was so unruly that police fired a paint ball in the middle of the packing lot to garner some reaction and allow an order of semblance to return.
One consumer, near the front of the line was reported to have complained that it was not those waiting for the PS3 release date at the front of the line who were the problem but those at the back of the long lineups who were the causing all the trouble.
